Lynn, thank you so much for joining me on. We Woke Up Like this today. I'm so excited to talk to you, not only because of your wisdom and expertise and work in the field and the power of intention, but also how you are now putting that into really here on Earth, like you always have anyway, but in a much bigger way, how we can actually make an impact together. So I would love for you. First, let's dive into for people who don't really know you or your work or aren't super familiar with it, what is the field and what is the power of intention. What is the?
Speaker 2:field, and what is the power of intention? Okay, well, the field is a giant energy field that unites us all in its invisible web. It's a quantum energy field and we know it's true and real because physicists have known about it for more than 100 years. It's called the zero-point field and essentially it is a little energy dance of subatomic particles. All of us, at our absolute nethermost level of being, are not a collection of tiny billiard balls as we're always shown in, you know, in biology class, in chemistry class, in physics class, with a little solar system of things going around a nucleus. We are packets of vibrating energy, and those energy packets trade information and energy back and forth with other subatomic particles, I should say other subatomic energy packets, like a tiny microscopic game of tennis, and that carries on with every subatomic particle in all the things in all the world. So one little tennis game isn't very much energy, but when you compound that to all the subatomic particles in all the things in all the world, you get this unfathomable amount of energy, because what happens when they play tennis is a little virtual particle is created and that helps to create the zero point field.
Speaker 2:And so the two big messages here are just this Number one waves. Particles are also waves and they go on to infinity. So it's a neat understanding of how we can connect to information outside ourselves. You know information thousands of miles away, how we create, essentially, a psychic internet between people, as I've experienced with my intention experiments. And secondly, I've experienced with my intention experiments. And secondly, waves have an infinite capacity to store information. If we were to take the Library of Congress and put it on subatomic waves, we could fit the whole of the Library of Congress, which has every book written in English, onto a sugar cube essentially. So that's how powerful that information storage is. So, essentially, it's a library of everything that ever was, and it answers one big question about how we can access information all the time. That is beyond our senses.
Speaker 1:Wonderful.
Speaker 2:I love how you said it's a psychic internet field that's really powerful. So how do we interact with it? Through the power of our intention and delving into their work. For my book, the Field, I was left with unfinished business, which was that thoughts are an actual something with the capacity to change physical matter. So I wanted to figure out how far we can take this. What are we talking about? Are we talking about just a very, very subtle process like moving a quantum particle, or are we talking about flying on top of our roofs or curing cancer? So that's when I set up the intention experiment back in 2007 to test this, because I had loads of readers around the globe, the field was in 30 languages and I also had good connections with lots of prestigious scientists working in consciousness research. So I thought, if I just put them together and have the scientists measure intention experiments that I would set up, or they would set them up, and I would invite my readers every so often to come onto my website or another platform and hold a thought, together, we'd have the biggest global laboratory in the world. And that's what we've been doing, as I say, since 2007.
Speaker 2:We've run 42 experiments to date. Of the 41. We've measured. 37 have shown measurable positive, mostly significant effects. The 42nd one I just ran last Saturday which was an intention to lower violence in Washington DC and we're waiting to analyze the results. And we mean actual violence like violent crime, property crime, et cetera, because Washington's a very, very violent place. In certain neighborhoods it's 600 times more violent in terms of violent crime than the national average in the US. So we want to measure whether violence can go down.
Speaker 2:But we've also measured the audience. We had a live audience right in front of me at the Gaius sphere, at Gaius headquarters, and we measured more than 40 people. We used special equipment to measure things like their immune systems, their endocrine systems, to see if they had changed before and afterward, because we see major changes with people who have participated in these events. We also measured the room with very, very sensitive equipment that can pick up any changes in emotional content, in autonomic nervous system activity, all those kinds of things. They read into this device, which is an energetic, essentially device developed by both of them, developed by Dr Konstantin Korotkov, a world-renowned Russian physicist who I've worked with on a number of the experiments.
Speaker 2:So we're very much looking forward to the results. Did we heal Washington for all of its implications, Because the areas we chose are just a tiny river away from the capital area, so we're not only wanting to lower violence in those neighborhoods, which is what we can actually measure, but we'd very much like to lower violence in Washington DC. And the last time I did a Washington experiment, which was 2012,. The very next day, the then former Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, and the current Speaker of the House, which was John Boehner, hugged, and these were noted enemies, so I hope we'll have some of the same outcomes.
Speaker 1:Influencing miracles through the power of intention, exactly, exactly. And you have a new initiative coming up which I really love, because I watched the video and I said, oh, this is just so powerful, because I personally believe that when we come into integrity and alignment with vibrationally, with who we are, that we impact the field with more pure intentions to create. And you know, people talk about manifestation and we're creating and I always think we're doing it all the time, but we're doing it from a lower, lower vibration of consciousness. So I would love for you to share what this initiative is with the power of Eight and how people can get involved in what you're hoping, what your vision is for this outcome, for this project that you're working on.
Speaker 2:Okay, well, the project is a masterclass and it's kicking off on February 22nd and I do this every year. I take a select bunch of people who want to work with me for a whole year and I put them into the masterclass and the first thing that we do is what I call intention boot camp. So we meet and I'm talking about meeting virtually on Zoom, live and interactively. So I'm there live every Saturday for six weeks, from February 22nd to the last Saturday in March, and we meet for two hours and it's interactive and experiential too, and I teach them all kinds of aspects of intention. So first I teach 13 keys to intention mastery, which is the right words to use, because a lot of people talk about intention and they talk about I want I get. I have found in studying a great deal of indigenous practice and also modern science, and I put it together in a unique program, because with the traditional practices, a lot of times they use intention and they have very individual things, but there are also certain commonalities that all traditions use, and so I took some of those and then married it with a lot of the latest discoveries in modern science that have to do with the power of intention, or, as they call it, psychokinesis in science. So the 13 Keys to Intention Mastery encompasses that, and there are numerous things.
Speaker 2:Most people make huge mistakes when they use intention. Their intentions are way too broad. You know it's I want to be rich, and they don't really think about what they really want. A lot of people think, well, if I have enough money, that'll solve all my problems. But maybe they just need $20,469 to buy a new car. So I show them how to be very specific in exactly what they want. I also help them to find out exactly what they want, because most people don't know. They just think I don't want this, whatever this is, I don't want my current life. I want something more. But besides working out how much money you need, we focus on health, we focus on relationships. With this course, we dive very deeply into intention, using it for all kinds of areas of your life. We have health, and was Lori McLeod who was going blue, thank you, you sorry, I just I don't.
Speaker 1:I guess my I said I intend for her to come back right now. Okay, and it dropped off. You were talking about laurie and her eyesight okay.
Speaker 2:Then we had somebody called laurie mcleod who was in my master class a few years ago, and these are just a few of the thousands of healings that I've heard of. Lori was going blind and the doctor said there was nothing they could do for her. She had retinal damage in both eyes. So we put people in the master class into power of eight groups small groups of eight or so and the assignment is for them to meet once a week for an hour. Lori met with her group. They did an intention for her. She felt enormous energy behind her eyes and the upshot was she began to be able to see again and she went to her doctors and guess what? Her vision is now 20-20. So we've had that.
Speaker 2:We had another woman, lisa, with liver damage, due to have a liver transplant. Again, doctors couldn't do anything for her. Her liver was deteriorating, she had been born with a genetic deficiency of a certain enzyme and the result was her liver was scarred, her spleen was enlarged. She was only in her 40s. One power of eight in tension and they're only 10 minutes and when she went back to the doctor she again could feel this amazing energy going out of her leg, going around her liver area and a few months later she got a scan and she has letters from two doctors saying her liver and spleen are now normal.
Speaker 2:So we do healing for all kinds of health conditions and people come with everything. We do healings of relationships and we hear about people getting along better with their children, with their partner, with their not very nice boss. We also have people find new love. I loved my story of Joy. So Joy joined us during the lockdown COVID lockdown. She lives in Australia. We get people joining from around the world and she intended, with her group, to find more love in her life. Within a week or two she gets a call out of nowhere from a boyfriend from 35 years ago and he's in the UK and they start corresponding, they start calling, they start connecting and the upshot is he goes to Australia, he sits in quarantine for two weeks in a hotel and then he goes to be with her and they're now living together. So a beautiful I mean she was in her 60s. It was a beautiful, beautiful case of, you know, old love getting reignited.
Speaker 2:So we have things like that. We have people finding new careers or establishing the thing they've always wanted to do. I've had about eight people who wrote the book. Finally, they always wanted to write, many of them bestsellers. We've had people also find their life purpose or set up the alternative clinic. We've had people also find their life purpose, you know, or set up the alternative clinic. We've had a number of those they've always wanted to do or find fabulous charity work or get the $200,000 they need to complete a project all kinds of things like that and find the thing in their lives, their real soul's purpose, and that's the thing that excites me most of all.
Speaker 2:So the reason this works, I believe, is from and I, you know, always collecting data about it and keeping track of people to groups in this masterclass. But I also monitor them over the year. I have them fill out things. How are you doing so? I can tell what to do in the follow-up intention clinics. So I run them quarterly thereafter after our big intention boot camp and they're meeting in groups to help them, to coach them, to hone their skills.
Speaker 2:So that's why it lasts a whole year and in my experience, the people who carry through, who meet as much as they can week after week after week, just that hour a week experience major transformations. Plus, they meet a group of friends who start out as strangers and become their family, become their intention family, as Jerry, one member of one group, said. He was again during lockdown and he said at the end of the year I felt more love than I ever have in my life. And he loved it so much he joined the masterclass the following year and I said, jerry, you're going to learn the same stuff. And he said, no, I'm going to go deeper and I want more. And I think that's what happens. It's the longevity and the connection of the course and the groups. That's where the real magic happens.
Speaker 1:Why do you think it's the power of the group and why specifically eight? Why do you think it's the power of the?
Speaker 2:group and why specifically eight? Okay, first of all, eight came about by accident. I, after doing the intention experiment, I the year later I thought we're getting good results. I wonder if we could shrink this down to a workshop we were planning the following year and we had four of them scheduled in America and we had four of them scheduled in America. So I'm kicking it around with my husband and some of our team members and my husband's a great headline writer so I said, well, maybe I'll just put them in groups of eight or so and have them send healing intention to a member of the group with a health challenge and my husband turns and he goes. I love it.
Speaker 2:The power of E. And that's how the title got started, just like that. And we didn't expect to have any kind of result other than kind of mild feel good effect. So we were as shocked as anyone when we did it for the first time in a workshop in Chicago. We do it at the end of one day. One person in the group is nominated who has a health challenge to be the subject everybody else is sending the next day. We expect everybody to say, yeah, it felt like getting my back rubbed and that's not what it felt like at all to them was limping badly because she had before, because she had arthritis of the knee and she walked in normally. And then somebody else had terrible irritable bowel syndrome and said her gut was normal. Yet another said I have depression, it feels like it's lifted. And finally this was the most amazing one A woman with cataracts said they were 80% better. A woman with cataracts said they were 80% better. So we were just shocked by this. You know how did this happen? And so I kept studying it, I kept working with people.
Speaker 2:It took me 10 years to publish that book, the Power of Eight, because I needed to understand why does this work? You know, this is I'm not a healer, I'm a journalist. This is I'm thinking to myself. I'm a journalist, I write books, I'm an author. I don't do this stuff. So I was a little bit frightened by it. And, by the way, I should say it doesn't need eight, it works with six, it works with 12. You just need a group and a common intention. And with six it works with 12. You just need a group and a common intention and it is the fast track to the miraculous. So I started looking at it, why does this work? And studying it and analyzing it and studying science, studying the literature to see how come this works. And there are a number of answers. I wrote a whole book called the Intention Experiment and it was a book about all of the science around intention. And there's enormous science Now. That was published in 2007. There's probably even more now, but there's a ton of science. There's no question intention works. Of a ton of science, there's no question intention works. Then there are group effects.
Speaker 2:When we get into a small group of any, you know, any size, really it lifts us. Psychologists call it collective effervescence. You know we feel our mood is lifted, we're connected, we're with other people and the science shows us too we need to belong, basically more than we need to breathe. You know people need community more than anything else. It is the single biggest thing that keeps us alive.
Speaker 2:Isolation has been found to be worse than smoking, worse than stroke, than smoking. Worse than stroke, you know. Worse than pretty much everything. You know worse than ultra-processed foods. It's the thing we need more than anything else. Community People die without community of heart attacks and only the people who die of heart attacks only 50% have high cholesterol and all of those risk factors. The other half are lonely. So we need community and connection more than anything. And connection protects us against not only heart disease but stroke, even the common cold. It even overrides bad times Like if you lose your job. But you have a connected community. You're less likely to be depressed far less likely than if you're by yourself. And if you have a genetic propensity to something like, say, depression, you're far less likely to express it if you connect with other people. So it is community, it is the connection, group effects.
Speaker 2:Then there's another piece to it, which is altruism, and this is probably what is different about my work, because a lot of people talk about, you know, manifestation I want I get. Then I have studied altruism because seven-eighths of the time, if it's a group of eight people, are intending for someone else, and I wondered if that was part of it. And there's no question, altruism is a bulletproof vest. People who do things for other people live longer, healthier, happier lives. You are going to live two-thirds longer if you do things for other people than if you just focus on yourself. And a big study that convinced me was a study of two groups of people. One group were what they called the pleasure seekers. These were studied by a team of scientists. Those people had loads of money, went on plenty of holidays, were living what we'd call the dream. Right, they were living the good life. Then they assumed their immune system markers were going to be really good, but when they looked they found that they were terrible. These were people who were perfect candidates for a whole host of degenerative diseases, from heart attacks and stroke to Alzheimer's and diabetes. These guys were going to drop like flies, whereas the other group, a group of people who were not as affluent but were living a life of service altruism these people had robust immune systems. They were going to live forever.
Speaker 2:We need to do things for other people. We don't just need to connect, we need to give, and so the giving part of it. I see people just as many people heal from giving and intending for someone else as I do for them being the receiver. And many times when people are stuck, I will say get off of yourself, intend for someone else and watch what happens to you. So that seems to be a potent mix, another reason why the group works you get to give, you get to receive, you get to connect with that group, they become your intention family. All of this is hugely healing.
Speaker 2:But there is one more piece that I think is the ultimate reason why this all works, and that is oneness. You know, we don't experience oneness too often, even when we're meditating, we're meditating alone. But oneness is, I think, the secret sauce, because we talk about the field, how we're all connected, how we're all one, but we don't experience life like that. We experience life in an isolated separateness. We experience life as lonely, little people on a lonely planet, in a lonely universe, and so we don't get to feel that oneness until we do this kind of intending in a group.
Speaker 2:So, for instance, last week, when I did this giant intention experiment, we were asking I had a live audience, as I said, at the Gaia Sphere, at Gaia's headquarters, and also a live stream audience from people, thousands of people around the world. So I asked them afterward how did that feel? And people said remember, our intention experiments, as well as the intentions for Power of Eight groups, are only 10 minutes long. That's all you need. They said I have gone more deeply than I ever have in any meditative practice. I have connected more deeply to source than I ever have. We had extraordinary comments. We always get extraordinary comments. I felt like I was part of a higher network. I was shaking and crying uncontrollably. This is somebody who said they're watching on their computer screen alone in their live stream, wherever they are live streaming. Yet they felt connected the psychic internet and they also felt transformed.
Speaker 2:So I was lucky enough to work with Life University Dr Stephanie Sullivan, who is the head of research at Life University, the largest and most prestigious chiropractic university in the world. They decided to study power of eight groups, so they put an EEG cap on one member of seven groups each one of those members of seven groups and they also measured any effects from the recipient's sent intention, and they found extraordinary things. The portions of the brain, the parietal lobes that sit back here, the temporal lobes here these are parts of the brain that help us to navigate through space, but they also make us feel separate. They were dialed way down, and so was the parts of the right frontal lobe involved in worry, doubt, negativity. That was also dialed way down.
Speaker 2:These were people in a state that was nothing like meditation, nothing Very, very different brainwave signatures. Meditation creates an increase in slower brainwaves. Our brainwaves were turning off and not turning off permanently, of course, but just during this they were turning down. But the brainwave signatures were almost identical to those carried out by the University of Pennsylvania's then neuroscientist, dr Andrew Newberg, who studied Sufi masters during whirling dancing and Buddhist monks during ecstatic prayer, and the Braille way signatures were virtually identical. So these were people in a state of ecstatic oneness.
Speaker 2:But here's the interesting piece of it it takes years to become a Buddhist monk. Yes, it takes hours of priming to get into those worldly dervish things with Sufi masters. Our students never had even meditated. They had a short piece from me explaining how to do it, how to do the power of eight groups, and yet they, within a minute or two, got into this extraordinary altered state. Don't need hours of priming, you need to learn how intention works and you need structure and study and tools for that. But mainly you need a group and a common intention and it is your fast track to the miraculous.
Speaker 1:That is so powerful. Wow, thank you for your work that you've done around this and being able to explain it with science, and I love marrying that bridge between the spiritual experiences, which is really what I always talk about the mystical and those mystical experiences and how they happen inside of us. So it's about these embodiment practices. So it's about these embodiment practices and so I want to ask you, in all of the work and research you do and you just touched on it a little bit in this psychic internet, and I've read some books that answer this question, but I want to hear it from you is is the whole field, everything consciousness?
Speaker 2:Oh, that's a $54,000 question. I believe it is. I believe it is. I think that when you delve right down into that, a number of the scientists I interviewed way back for the field, so that's in the late 1990s were saying perhaps there's only one thing, it's consciousness. And yes, consciousness is first of not locked inside our heads, it's out there, it's in the field. We're much more like an antenna receiver where we tune in and then we receive as well and we're broadcasting all the time.
Speaker 2:Going back to your initial idea that you asked me about, people are doing I want I get as manifestation and they don't realize the 80,000 thoughts they have every day are also being broadcast. Everything we think is being broadcast and probably 80% to 90% of that is negativity beaming out all the time. So I always tell people the first thing I do with my masterclass is get people to become much more conscious of what they're beaming out all the time, because it's not pretty. And then we learn how to be much more conscious about what you're thinking about. When you think somebody's listening in, the universe is listening in, then it does become much more conscious. But yes, going back to your question, I think essentially everything is consciousness. I think we are participatory creators. I think we are.
Speaker 2:The science shows us that everything is essentially a bit like unset jello and consciousness gets the jello to set. We know this from many, many studies of quantum physics. When we see things like superposition, that subatomic particles aren't an anything. Yet To try to understand that, imagine that you've got an auditorium full of seats and every single seat is we think it's a different quantum particle, but actually it's only one because it's in a state of superposition, so it's every possible cell all at the same time. But as scientists and studies, many, many studies, in fact, they just got a Nobel Prize for it a couple of years ago. Thank you. Don't know why this is happening, sorry julia.
Speaker 1:So I'd always said something's interfering with this conversation. That's interesting oh, I know they don't want us to hear they don't want us, they don't want everybody to know.
Speaker 2:So let me just pick up from somewhere. So consciousness is the thing that turns this unset jelly into something real. It gets the unset jelly to set. It turns the potential of something into an actuality. So consciousness is very important. As the creator, we understand that. Now it may well be that everything is consciousness and we are creating that. I can't tell you for sure, but I can certainly say that we are co-creators.
Speaker 1:Yeah, and from what you described and I've experienced that feeling too of that I love how you worded it ecstatic oneness, that's so beautiful. And when you reach that state and even, yes, it's a brainwave state yes, it's happening inside of your body, but we are clearly tuning into something that's other than our normal, default mode of operation and we realize how powerful we are creating in our lives and in the field, absolutely, and that is really the core of my work.
Speaker 2:Thank you for saying that, because my work is about showing people how powerful they are. Once they amplify, once they supersize their intentions in a group, they are extraordinarily powerful. We can heal a city. We'll demonstrate that. We can heal ourselves, we can heal each other, we can heal the world. And the one big thing I talked about of Nicholas Christakis, who is a sociologist now at Yale University he was, I think, formerly of Harvard.
Speaker 2:He looks at social networks and he has found and he maps them too. He's found that happy people are more likely to have happy friends, not because they self-select people to be happy with, but because of the natural spread of happiness. But the same occurs with negative things like loneliness. You're more likely to have lonely people if you're lonely because of that spread the contagion of loneliness. But also if you do a good deed, if you are altruistic. But also if you do a good deed, if you are altruistic, that also spreads down a social network. So if Peter is kind to Paul, paul's more likely to be kind to Jane, jane's more likely to be kind to Sam and Sam's more likely to be kind to Kirsten, and so far. On and on and on. But Sam and Paul and Peter and all of them continue to be altruistic too. So you can see how this continues to spread exponentially. For instance, let's take 30,000 people who were approximately on my intention experiment last Saturday. If they have 50 friends then they will start spreading it out. That's the most conservative. Or 150 friends. If they have 150 friends, that will get to spreading out like that. 4.5 million people. That is half the population of someplace like Israel. But imagine they have 600 friends on their social network and that's pretty possible with all of the social media we have now, all of the connections we have in the emails and all kinds of ways. That's the latest estimate of how many people we have contact with by Columbia University. That explodes to 18 million. Now imagine those 18 million have 600 friends each. That totally explodes to 7 billion. That's the population of the world. Totally explodes to 7 billion. That's the population of the world. So what I'm really interested in is the ripple effect, the huge ripple effect of doing group intention and how that ripples out to the world and what we get.
Speaker 2:We survey people after every intention experiment and I will in a few weeks. Now I have to give people time to notice what's changed. We find that about 40% say their relationships are transformed Suddenly. They're connecting with estranged partners, estranged parents, estranged children, people, just, you know, people they have hated or been estranged from, suddenly call them up and connect, or they reach out and connect. They're getting along better with people not like them, people they've been polarized from, people with a different political party, and also about 50% feel more love for everyone they come in contact with. That's the amazing one.
Speaker 2:Then there's another thing about 40% 35% to 40% of people taking part in these experiments report healings of some sort. We had a woman who we did three intentions for Gaza and Israel, and there was somebody with type 1 diabetes whose blood sugar was completely not controlled and suddenly was. We had people in pain with terrible hip issues, suddenly out of pain. Last Saturday we had a guy who had to leave for a while because he had panic attack when he participated in the experiment. He said it was gone and that never happens. Somebody else who couldn't lift his arm his arm was suddenly over his head. You know we have so many healings. We've had people even throw away crutches. So there's an extraordinary thing that happens when we come together in a group, we magnify our effect on the target, but we also magnify this altruistic, this sense of oneness in ourselves and it creates miracles.
Speaker 1:So beautiful. We're not meant to. We are wired to awaken, but we're not wired to do it for ourselves. It's not all to stay in the selfish me, me, me. So I just love your work, I love what you're doing and I deeply appreciate how much work and research and data, because you can say this is what's happening and here's the data to back it up, and I really appreciate that. Lynn, thank you so much for taking your time. I know how busy you are to join me and everybody.
